What is Myotherapy?
Relieve pain. Restore movement. Improve your quality of life.
Myotherapy is a hands-on treatment that targets muscles, fascia, joints, and other soft tissues to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function. While Myotherapy has been widely used in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland since the late 1970s, it is still a growing treatment option in Western Australia.
The word myotherapy comes from:
- Myo = muscle
- Therapy = treatment
Our approach focuses on finding and treating the root cause, not just easing the symptoms. Using in-depth assessments, we examine how your muscles, fascia, ligaments, tendons, and joints work together, and how they influence your movement.
Common techniques we use include:
- Soft tissue massage (deep tissue, trigger point release, myofascial release)
- Dry needling
- Joint mobilisations
- Myofascial cupping
- Muscle Energy Technique (MET) stretching
- Corrective exercise prescription
These evidence-based treatments promote healing, speed up recovery, and help you get back to everyday activities pain-free.
